Just back from Copenhagen, another beautiful city I called home for a year another lifetime ago.  Unlike Amsterdam where I cherish the few inner city spaces where I can actually touch the earth with my fingers, Copenhagen seems to have figured out centuries ago that dense city living was made tolerable by declaring enormous areas of green for parks for it’s citizens to enjoy.

Into  the already crowded world of Everyone Can Take a Good Photograph, enter Hipstimatic.  When I found the Hipstimatic app it turned my iPhone into the biggest competitor to my Canon 5D…  There are several options of film types, camera lenses, and flashes to choose from and to temporarily purchase (meaning they are available for sale for short periods of time only).  There are great “film” types, like a bleached bypass or 70’s yellowing tint, that will make your most boring snapshots into works of art.  I like it much more than the simple and all too basic & cliché filters from Instagram.  And when you consider that as a photographer we are to always carry our camera everywhere we go, we can finally check that box off!
